Artist's Description

The inspiration for this painting came from a large weathered wooden crate I discovered while walking. It was filled with huge black plastic cylinders on an apple orchard in North Carolina. I had no clue what they were for, but I loved the texture of the cylinders and ruggedness contrasting against the delicate new green stalks growing up around the crate. The cylinders seemed so out of place in the midst of this lovely soft landscape.
