Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. These men were kind enough to pose for a photo when my brother-in-law, Arno Frankel, a wonderful photographer, visited Papua. The photo, and all its beautiful color and detail, was irresistible to me to paint.
About Judy Swerlick
My watercolor and acrylic paintings reflect the diverse cultures and environments in which I have lived or traveled. I am a lover of detail and realism and have drawn or painted all of my life. In my paintings I attempt to bring to the viewer the emotional response I have to the people, landscape or setting I am capturing in paint and hope to inspire the viewer to be drawn to them as I am. My paintings are done in a slow, layering process.
